Children in need

Smiling boyThe Children's Services Team is committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children in need.

We work closely with children, young people and their parents, relatives or other carers, and also with other organisations, to find the best solution to any difficulties.

Under the Children Act 1989 a child is classed as 'in need' if their health or welfare may significantly suffer without receiving help from Social Services, or if they are disabled.

The Children and Families Service can undertake an assessment of needs to see what help and support would be the most appropriate.

Cass Nursery has a number of 'child in need' places available through the City of London.
